The 3rd grade students at Graves School recently read a story called Trombone Shorty, which takes place in New Orleans during Mardi Gras. Mrs. Raczynski and Mrs. Dysart have friends, Joel Randazzo Forjet and Felix Forjet Jr. who live in the area and own a bakery called Nonna Randazzo's Bakery. To make the story even more special, they donated a delicious King Cake for all the 3rd graders to try. It was a wonderful way to end the story and bring a taste of Mardi Gras to the class.
Los estudiantes de tercer grado de la escuela Graves leyeron recientemente una historia llamada Trombone Shorty, que toma lugar en Nueva Orleans durante el Mardi Gras. Students at Wharton are gearing up for their fanga performance tomorrow! Students will play drums, marimbas, and dance/ sing the fanga along with their music instructors. Fanga is a tradition that includes lyrics in Yoruba, a West African language, that call to welcome visitors in peace and hospitality
