The City of Summit has found the issue, and the water pressure has returned to normal operation at Wharton School Thank you for your understanding and cooperation, we expect to be back to operating in-person at Wharton School tomorrow, January 23, 2025. Dear School District 104 - Wharton School Parents and Guardians, I am writing to inform you of an unexpected situation impacting our school operations at Wharton School. Due to a lack of water pressure from the City of Summit, we are unable to provide the necessary resources to safely and effectively conduct in-person learning today, Wednesday, Jan 22nd at Wharton School. As a result, we will transition to an e-learning day for all students at Wharton School. Classes will start at 8:50 am. This decision was made to ensure the safety and well-being of our students and staff. We understand the inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your flexibility and support as we work through these unforeseen circumstances. Please know that the City of Summit is addressing the issue, and we will provide updates as they become available. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to the school office at (708) 458 – 0604. Dear Summit School District 104 Families, Due to extreme weather conditions and dangerously low temperatures, we have made the decision to transition to an eLearning day for tomorrow, Tuesday, January 21, 2025. As a result, there will be no in-person attendance and our schools will be closed. This means there will be no clubs, athletics or activities tomorrow Tuesday. We anticipate that the district will be open for student in-person attendance on Wednesday, January 22, 2025 and back to normal activities. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation as we prioritize the safety of our students, staff, and families. Please stay safe and warm. Students in our 6th Grade Dual language classes made Arpilleras . "Arpillera" is Spanish for "burlap". Arpilleras are a form of storytelling that allows people to share their experiences and memories. Los estudiantes de nuestras clases de lenguaje dual de 6to grado hicieron Arpilleras. "Arpillera" en español significa "arpillera". Las arpilleras son una forma de contar historias que permite a las personas compartir sus experiencias y recuerdos.

Spoiler alert: one method had us all saying, “chef’s kiss!” 👩‍🍳 🍢 Conduction = Direct contact, crispy perfection, but is it worth the sticky cleanup? 🌬️ Convection = Air on the move, golden vibes, but patience is a virtue. ☀️ Radiation = Straight fire, fast results, but watch out—it’s giving charcoal real quick. The first round of the Intramural Playoffs on Tuesday was an exciting series of games. The bracket is set for the second round on Friday evening at HMS! At 4:30, Walsh will take on Wharton for third place. After the game, teams will be recognized and awarded their medals, and pictures will be taken. Then, following the third-place game, Graves will take on Walker for the first-ever Intramural Basketball Championship! This morning the Kindergarten and First Grade classes at Walker school were able to visit the Bedford Park Police Station.   The students had a guided tour of the police station.  The police officers discuss the importance of following rules and showed the tools needed for their job.  It was a great way to wrap up their reading unit on rules and safety.
