Ms. Padilla, Ms. Lopez and Mrs. Raczynski's class earned a Valentine Celebration! The students wrote about how to make strawberry milk and then they followed the steps to make the milk. The students also wrote valentines to their families. The students passed out treats and then watched Encanto. It was a wonderful day!

Los estudiantes escribieron sobre cómo hacer leche de fresa y luego siguieron los pasos para hacer la leche. Los estudiantes también escribieron tarjetas de San Valentín a sus familias. Students in Mr. Murphy’s classroom opened their hot chocolate chart for staff to celebrate Valentine’s Day and kick off Random Acts of Kindness Week. This project allows students to work on many life skills including budgeting, social language skills, math knowledge, and job training. Excellent job, students! Staff can purchase hot beverages on Mondays and Tuesdays. All proceeds will be donated to a local charity.

The Village of Summit, in partnership with Metropolitan Mayors Caucus, the Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning, and the Illinois Housing Development Authority (IHDA), is undertaking a Community Needs Assessment survey as a part of the Homes for a Changing Region process. This survey will examine housing needs as well as community life in the Village of Summit, and will be informed by past planning efforts, data analyses, and community participation. We invite all residents to take part in this planning process by completing this Community Needs Assessment Survey to provide valuable information about their experiences living in Summit. The survey is completely anonymous and does not collect any identifying information. You should be able to complete it in under 10 minutes.
