Eva Manzke at Walker (3rd grade teacher) was selected at the 2022 Illinois Agriculture in the Classroom Teacher of the Year Runner-Up.
She was chosen for this title because she utilizes agriculture across her curriculum with her students.” As the Runner-up, Manzke will be the Illinois nominee for the 2022 American Farmer Bureau Foundation for Agriculture White-Reinhardt Scholarship. What an amazing accomplishment!

Band Recognition:
Yuliana Vargas is a 7th Grade Saxophone player in the band program. Last week, after multiple weeks of individual preparation, Yuliana auditioned for a group called the ILMEA (Illinois Music Educators association) District 1 Junior Honor Band.
This is a group consisting of approximately 100-125 of the best middle school musicians in the Chicagoland area (Cook, Will, and DuPage County). Those students then get together for one day, rehearse throughout the day, and then put on a performance that evening.
I am very excited to announce that Yuliana was selected to perform with this ensemble! On November 6th, she will be traveling to Lincoln-Way Central High School to rehearse and perform with the group.
Please join us in congratulating Yuliana on all her hard work and dedication!
If you would like to support Yuliana by attending her performance, it will be happening around 4 PM on November 6th at Lincoln-Way Central High School. 😊

Walsh Kindergarten students participated in a Walsh pumpkin patch today. Students were able to pick out their own pumpkin and will later participate in math and science activities related to the fall. 🎃🍂
